C.R. Carney Architects was retained by BCE Development to provide for a "Specific Plan" which included the master planning of site design, project design guidelines, land use, and all governmental processing and approvals. The Questhaven Business Center, located in San Marcos, California, is comprised of 152 acres of rolling hillside which was portioned into 29 individual parcels. The site design takes advantage of the natural topography by terracing the lots upwards from Questhaven Road to provide each site with views of the hills and adjacent public park. The design included for restaurants and retail specialty shops fronting on Rancho Santa Fe Road and the public park with larger R&D buildings on the remaining parcels.
